TIM LEWISTON (AGE 54) - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Tim started his career in the film industry in 1972. He quickly graduated to the cutting room,
editing commercials and documentaries, eventually moving on to Feature Films working in
both picture and sound. He has also worked on the production side in a variety of roles on
commercials and larger projects.
Tim founded his own Post Production facility in 1995 and was amongst the first to mix a feature film using digital technology.
He has worked on more than 40 feature films, including Shiner (Michael Caine) The Magnificent Ambersons (Madeleine Stowe, Jonathan Rhys Meyers); Grizzly Falls (Richard Harris) - for which he received an MPSA Golden Reel nomination; Sliding Doors (Gwyneth Paltrow) and Merlin (Sam Neill, Miranda Richardson, Isabella Rossellini and Helena Bonham Carter) - for which he received an Emmy nomination.
For the last four years Tim has concentrated on writing and producing The Garden of Eden which is based on the novel by Ernest Hemingway; starring Mena Suvari, Jack Huston, Caterina Murino and Richard E. Grant, and was produced by Tim for Berwick Street Productions PLC(BSP). The film will be released later this year.
Tim left BSP in October 2008 and founded Wardour Pictures Plc (WPP). The ‘mandate’ for WPP is to make intelligent, entertaining and commercial feature films for budgets that are realistic in terms of recoupment and look after the needs of its angels (private investors).
Tim brings a unique set of abilities to this venture and the new team of experienced professionals welcomes his becoming Film Director of The Hot Potato.
TONY TOWNSON (AGED 53) - NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the sudden death of our founding Chairman,
Anthony Burton, on August 31st last year. He was a tremendous inspiration and worked
very hard to launch Wardour Pictures successfully. He will be greatly missed.
Following a brief interregnum however, we now have great pleasure in announcing the
appointment of Tony Townson as new Non-Executive Chairman.
Tony was appointed Chairman on 8th October 2009 to represent the interests of the “B” Shareholders on the Board of the company.
He is an Honours Graduate of Durham University who, after a period in the Middle East
working for Grand Metropolitan Plc, has enjoyed a successful career in industry running
and growing his own family business, a leading UK sign and graphics company.
In 2003 Tony was appointed Non-Executive Chairman of Redman Whitely Dixon Ltd., the
top UK-based international super-yacht interior and exterior design company, to steer the
thriving young business through a period of substantial growth and consolidation.
Tony will use his wealth of business experience from different backgrounds to ensure that
the Board of Wardour Pictures always operates within sound commercial disciplines and in the best interests of all investors and shareholders.
